About Jewels' Clothing
My name is Julian Ruffin, founder of Jewels' Clothing. The name originates from a childhood nickname that to this day my best friends call me- "Jules". I decided to name the store "Jewels' Clothing" as a testament to the quality of time, effort, and printing put into each garment. I design each article by hand and get them printed for your enjoyment. All of these shirts I would wear (or already do) myself.
My journey with God begins when I was much younger, younger than I can remember. My parents would always have me praying before bed, but I never really understood the purpose or what was happening. Later in life, I realize they were trying their best to align my spirit with the ultimate good. I had my first real encounter with the devil when I discovered pornography at the age of 12. At 23, I graduated college, got a job working third shift as a cybersecurity analyst for a small medical imaging company based in Canada, and moved out of my parents house. There is something about working remote during the hours of 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. that challenges the mind. There is nothing to do, the only thing open from 3 to 5 a.m. was the gym. I spent some time getting high, playing video games, watching porn, and eventually began to think very heavily and often.
I would spend long lonely nights staring at the ceiling for hours and many existential questions would end up popping into my head that I began to try to find the answers to. Thus begins my genesis with the alignment with a higher power.
One day, Jehovah's witnesses came to knock on my door for their usual dealings. Since I was in the process of finding answers, who else to use than an expert? I ended up letting them in, and spoke with one or two for an hour or so every single week for 8-9 months. I got most of my questions answered, but their way of doing things wasn't for me.
I wanted a church that spoke to me. As cliche as this sounds it was what I wanted and was waiting on. Salsa dancing found me before anything. I went to a social dancing event once in 2024 and fell in love, and have been addicted ever since. I now run a social dancing event every Monday in my city and teach the basics before the class, DJing as well. One day, while parking at Wal-Mart, I was playing one of my favorite songs with the windows down because it was ferociously hot outside at the time. A Cuban man asked me if I was listening to Salsa, I said yes, and he invited me to his church that I have been a part of ever since.
To me, God is the ultimate good, and the Devil is the ultimate evil. I believe there are people in this world who want to believe in something but have too many questions they need answered, and a true Christian is equipped with the knowledge to guide them in the right direction. I made this clothing line to bridge the gap between cool and Christian.
